They Can Put A Few Pounds on “Weigh” Too Easily

Do you know that squirrels swim on their backs? It's the only way to keep their nuts dry. Seriously. Sometimes they can overdo it, though, just like us. “Just one more cheeseburger, just one more coke, and then I will start the diet.” We all know where good intentions lead and it is usually not to the health store or the gym. Young Squeaky the Squirrel above has just finished his third portion of nut casserole and is pondering on why the universe is, like, so heavy.
They Sometimes Wrongly Mistake Somebody

Don't I know you? Here Timmy the Tit thinks he recognizes somebody. He does, of course, but shouldn't stay around for too long to figure out just who it is. The car is reversing. Birds can act like humans in one way, however. In shops, eye-catching products are often placed next door to the staple, so as to catch people who do not necessarily want it. Scientists have recently discovered that birds fall for a similar “decoy” technique. So, birds are effectively as vulnerable to marketing “trickery” as we are.
They Love to Have a Good Laugh

Dogs! Would life be the same without out four-legged furry friends? No, in fact without them human technological development may not have happened at the same rate as it was the domestication of “canis familiaris” that paved the way to us becoming more than just hunter gatherers. This pair of buddies has just shared a particularly good joke. “I say, old chap, do you know the difference between a cat and a comma?” “No, do tell, old bean.” “Well, one has the paws before the claws and the other, wait for it, as the clause before the pause.” Warrooff, warroof, warroof!
Maybe not that joke then. Apologies, reader.
They Can Be Caught Enjoying Guilty Pleasures

Caught in the act! The wide-mouthed look of astonishment at being discovered will no doubt be followed by protestations that it was only the one cookie and that it really was going to just the one. Honestly. Who do you think you are trying to kid? And why is the cookie jar empty? Can you honestly say this has never happened to you?
They Get Upset When They are Told that Santa Clause Does Not Exist

Who was it that did it to you? An older brother or sister? A friend from school? Or was it your parents, those heartless swine. Even when you phoned Child Line you did not get any compensatory recompense - those people who bore you were not punished. Don't worry, as you grow in to adulthood and they get old you can get them back by selling their house and putting them in to sheltered accommodation.
They Occasionally Dabble with Drugs

You may have tried them in college but only inhaled. Right. Bill Clinton didn't have relations with that women either. Here at least is irrefutable proof that dogs are possibly the daftest animals in existence - without drugs! Actually he has just been told that he is going to the vets. Considering that the last was for the, whisper, "big snip" no wonder Bonzo is freaking!
They Can Show Embarrassment

One thing that animals and humans most certainly have in common is the natural inclination to blame others for their own flatulence - the smelly variety for which no-one ever seems to volunteer responsibility. It is fairly easy to do with dogs, as they tend to burp through their bottoms rather more than other animals. However, with animals that bear more than a passing resemblance to humans and have no pets of their own, they usually have to resort to blaming their offspring who have yet to learn some of life's lessons. Here with have a classic, “Oh, you didn't!” moment with the baby chimp obviously puzzled about what he didn't do.
Their Offspring Fight - Sometimes to the Death

Kids, eh! You hear adults say it all the time and then benignly raise their eyebrows. What is there to do when they misbehave? Well, you could start by ruddy well disciplining them, that could work. Especially when they do it in public. The “should be seen and not heard” rule will never make a dramatic and spontaneous comeback (unless you count homicide) but we can dream on. They learn when they grow up and have their own, though. Teddy above on the right has four of his own now and is a right grumpy, grizzled old thing as a result. Harry on the left is a throw rug in front of an occasionally burning fire in an LA condominium. He is the happier.
They Sometimes Have a Hair-Don't

We've all had them. A trip to the salon that ends in disaster and a mop that has to be kept within the four walls of the home at all costs. This dog got in to trouble when returning to work. Yes, he had had it cut on company time. The boss was furious. In response the dog maintained that it was fair enough to do it during work hours, as the hair had, after all, grown on company time. His boss responded that yes, while this was no doubt true for some of it, it was not true for all of his hair. The pooch replied that it was just as well as he hadn't had all of it cut.
They Can Lose Their Grip

We have all had those moments where life gets on top of us and we lose our grip. It may be for just a second. It can be for the rest our lives. Whatever happens, it's good occasionally just to go crazy for a while. Don't allow things to get on top of you and when you sometimes lose your grip, you will be able to put it in to perspective.
