Everyone loves milk, and cows give us milk, but cows also help with global warming. How? Here’s the explanation made easy:
Countries like India (India has 460 million cattle) have LOTS of cows. Most of them don’t produce much milk, but they still consume a lot of grass. Of course, all this grass needs to be digested, and when a cow digests its food, it releases lots of Methane, one of the greenhouse gases, into the atmosphere. Milk = cows = space & grass = methane = contribution to global warming! Scary, right?
Of course, humans are to be blamed for raising so much cattle, so you can’t blame it on the poor cows, but lots of trees are being cut down to make space for cattle so it may seem like cows are the villains behind global warming. THEY’RE NOT! Ultimately (and unfortunately), it’s all because of humans. After all, cows aren’t as bad for the environment as cars are. So do your part to save our planet!!
