These poorly designed backgrounds are taking root in every corner of our vast empire, spreading the seeds of evil and terror. Many an innocent web-surfer has been drawn in by their vibrant colors and seemingly innocent themes. the best way to fight this menace is through education, and only education. Today, we will examine some of the types of clipart, and how to recognize it for what it truly is.
The Mishmash
In this type of clipart background, we can see that the "artist" -I shudder to call them that- painstakingly scribbled all over the page before pasting a picture of an -admittedly- cute animal and typed a few words.
Although this picture is, at first glance, cute and innocent, you have to consider the work of evil genius behind it. This picture is created specifically to cause either headaches (for those with no hearts) or an overwhelming *Awwwww* sensation. Just look at those bunny eyes, staring deep into your soul.
Cure: Public burning
Piggeybackers
These types of clipart backgrounds are dastardly indeed! The clever "artist" attempts to make their background funny, or humorous by piggybacking (see where we get the name from?) on a previous saying.
"Something just doesnt seem to fit in here???"
O RLY?!
I think that something is You! Using the "One of these is not like the other" Saying to make your background popular, I think not!
Cure: Cleaning Elephant dung for the rest of your life
Stating the Obvious=Funny?
NO! stating the obvious is not funny!
These excuses for artwork take no time at all the create! the "artists" simply paste similar pictures and add a quote saying the obvious.
Really? Saxophones make music?
Not only that, but they also added a racial stereotype. Obviously this is uproariously amusing...to no one.

From Bad to Worse
The final (kinda) type of clipart background is by far the worst kind.
This type of clipart takes popular internet phenomena (memes, sayings, etc) and incorporates them into an utterly cheap and thoughtless work of "art" that although somewhat amusing leaves me agast at the senselessness of it.

Cure: Sentenced to a life of meaningless work.
A Different Breed
Fortunately, there is a different kind of clipart background, and that may-just a little- redeem the industry. this type of clipart -surprisingly- shows some imagination, some creativity, and just isn't so bad.
Seriously now, Look at that sun! thats not a sun! thats a Pie! Who would have thought of making a pie the sun, seriously! thats just amazing. And look at that expertly designed background, looks like a real dessert (or is that desert? The pie has me all confused.).
This type of clipart actually shows some promise, and as such i can show it as my desktop -as long as no one else knows.
Cure: Free Pie, and perhaps some icecream to go with it?
