How to be Free From The Computer's Dominance

With the technologies of our modern world, it is sometimes hard to get away from the computer. This article has the cure!

Have you ever sat for hours on at the computer, starring blankly at the screen and ignoring everything around you? Do you do this a lot? If you do, then this is the cure. Do you remember the sun? You know, that yellow ball up in the sky that gives us warmth and light? Do you miss it? Then follow the step by step instructions below.

Now that we have computers, televisions, cell phones, and other technologies, a high percentage of us want to stay cooped up inside the house as the day passes into night. The computer kidnapped your brain! Do you want it back? Then fight back!

  1. Look away from the computer. Look out the window. Imagine playing outside as you did as a child. Imagine bathing in the sun's warmth.
  2. Step up. It is not hard. just pick your body out of the chair. I hope your legs are strong enough. Otherwise, this is going to be even more of a challenge. If you are going to live at the computer, at least get enough exercize to maintain the ability to walk.
  3. Step away from the computer and move towards the door. It is not hard. I have done it loads of times. If I can do it, so can you.
  4. Continue walking towards the door. Don't stop! Concentrate on the goal: reaching the door. Put one foot out in front the other.
  5. Once you are at the door, reach your hand out, touch the doorknob, and turn it. *Dramatic music.*
  6. Push the door open. Do you feel that warmth? Is the light blinding? That is the sun. It will not hurt you, well it won't hurt you as long as you wear sunscreen. Do not go back inside to get sunscreen! If you do, the computer might pull you back! A few minutes outside will not give you a sunburn.
  7. Step outside. It is alright. Nothing will eat you, or harm you in any way. It is not like someone is waiting outside your own door to kill you unless you are in the mafia or in a gang. Sorry, once were.
  8. Shut the door behind you. Do not listen to the computer calling your name. Remove all thoughts of returning.
  9. Run free! You are released from the chains the computer had on you.

How does freedom feel? Exciting? Scary? If this article did not help you then I suggest you find a good therapist who can help you with your fear of the outside world.
