Thanksgiving Through the Eyes of a Turkey

The average Thanksgiving day from the perspective of a turkey, a turkey by the name of Frank. A sad and epic tale of being slaughtered and roasted by cruel giants, having his bones ripped apart for good luck, and finally having his dismembered body eaten.

1: This is Frank, your average turkey, exactly like any other turkey. This a seemingly average day for him, only it won't be like any other. It will be his last.

2:  This is Frank the turkey's family; his brother, his wife, and their two children. Happy to be in each other's company and enjoying life.

3:  Frank and his family live on a farm, the same farm on which they were born and have always lived on. They sleep inside a beautiful red barn that stands on the farm.

4:  One day Frank is taken away from his family in the dark night and slaughtered in cold blood and without mercy under the light of the moon.

Source

5:  His headless corpse has its feet removed, and is then plucked and gutted. This is done without showing any respect towards the now lifeless Frank.

Source

6:  His cold unrecognizable body is then shoved in a hot oven to slowly be burnt dry. Thank god he is already dead.

Source

7:  Once he is ready enough for them, his captors and executioners play around with his crispy body, turning his horrid death and mutilation into a thing of joy and recreation.

Source

8:  Once the giants have finished playing with his roasted corpse they garnish it with hundreds of chopped apart vegetables, each with their own story.

Source

9:  The cannibals and their cannibal friends then proceed to dismember poor Frank's remains. Preparing their sacrifice.

Source

10:  After these monsters have finished gulping down Frank's over cooked skin and flesh, they rip apart his bones in hope of gaining good fortune by doing so.

Source

11:  Meanwhile Frank's family awaits in mourning and to no avail, his children waiting for their beloved father to return. They are not even thinking to imagine the mutilation he had undergone after being killed and before being eaten.

Source

12:  This is the end of Frank's horrid tale. Unfortunately he is not alone, more and more are constantly being killed in the genocide of our feathered avian friends. Put yourself into their shoes, see from their eyes, help to end this massacre once and forever, don't eat poultry. Go vegetarian and eat some chicken nuggets from a McDonalds.

I wrote this because when I wanted to break a wishbone someone asked how I would like giants ripping me apart for wishes. I'm not vegetarian though.

People would rather not see it that way because then they would have to have a conscience and that will make them feel guilty.

Fun piece. If you see my stuff you'd probably like "Claris, Out on the Town', first published about ten years ago.
Don't get the last line though... chicken nuggets from McDonalds? Ugh!
Have you read Fast Food Nation? If you want to get a friend out of the junk fast food, give em this book! Cured me!
Thanks,
Clay
