Changing Your Stars

Anyone can change their stars they just have to work at it.

“It is hard to feel destined for greatness when you keep messing up; but, destiny's a funny thing, it will creep up on you when you least expect it.”

Shoeshine (played by Jason Lee) in the 2007 movie Underdog.

These are words that everyone can relate to at one time or another. People do not plan to make mistakes, sometimes it just happens. You go to an interview and before you know, you say those words that ruin that interview. You are cooking dinner for your future boyfriend and you burn the meal. Nothing is worse than sneezing in someone's face and forgetting to cover your nose.

How do you learn? By failing and making mistakes. That is how we grow. That is why we have role models. They all made mistakes and they all failed. They recognized their mistake, they picked themselves up and they began again.

Just as making mistakes happen so does destiny. It is clandestine. That is why picking yourself up and trying again is so important. The words uttered for the lotto describe it perfectly, “You can't win if you don't play.” You do not have to play the lotto to win, you just have to keep trying. Only you can change your stars.
