Rejection can be hard, especially if experienced repeatedly. Everyone experiences it at sometime in his or her live. Some of the rejection we experience we cannot do anything about, but other times, if you listen carefully, you will find that it is not really a rejection you are receiving, but a challenge.
The best example I can think of is from Smallville. Lana Lang wanted to save the old movie theater. It is where her parents had met, and it was a historical landmark. She found out that Lex Luthor was purchasing the property. She explained to him the significance of the theater to him, and he told her he was not interested. It told her it would not be a good business decision to save the property for the reasons she had given him. She thought it over, and did just what Lex had told her indirectly. She wrote a business plan and Lex liked it enough to save the property.
If Lana had not bothered to listen to what Lex was saying, she would not have come up with the answer she wanted to save the building she wanted to save. True, she had to do some homework, but it was worth it for her to get what she wanted.
For this reason, it is always good to listen and pay attention to what people tell you, even when it hurts. The challenge could be any number of things. You just have to be aware when it happens.
