Practical View

Practical and common sense can save the day.

Once, I was travelling with three Diocesan Priests in a Mitsubishi van going to a far Parish.  After travelling for a couple of hours, we passed the mountainous area, and it was already dusk.  Then all of a sudden the driver felt something is wrong with the vehicle.  I, too, sitting in the front seat was sensing something although not sure what it is.  Slowly, the driver took a slow curve and parked the vehicle on the road's shoulder.  When I look out the vehicle's window, I saw that one of our tire was rolling down past the rice field area.  With a very controlled tone, I told our driver "it seems that one of our tire is there rolling down the rice field".

The tire was easily recovered but the five nuts and bolts.  One of our companion priests said, "well, mu brothers and sisters let us all pray so that we may find all the bolts and nuts!".  But the other one replied, "let us just open our eyes and we will surely find the bolts and nuts!".  And surely we did.

Yes, you are truly right Cluves. Most mothers say being practical can save a lot – time & money. Once you become aware of the thoughts you are having and the content of those thoughts, you will notice which timeframe you are in at any given time.

What I was trying to suggest is be very practical/ be positive thinker (use your common sense) in all aspects of your life
