In my circles it is widely known I hate most people I meet. It's not arrogance but merely the realization that so few people in life bring anything to the table and the vast majority not only bring nothing but they take away from the table, sucking away the funny from the witty, replace the insightful with the mundane or the hot with the fatty fatness. Therefore the surprising thing is that at work I actually get along with most of my co-workers and would say there is only one example of person who DESTROYS THE TABLE. Literally takes the metaphorical table and destroys it leaving nothing but resent in her path. This woman takes all the joy and life out of children and ruins the dreams of the innocent. I hate her and her entire family for spawning this demon spawn. And so does the entire ward.
But why? Why is it that everything she does spoiled and touched by the dark one from below? She is a class-A bureaucratic incompetent cunt. That's why. Lazy, overweight, whining and blocking my every attempt to get my shit done efficiently. And for a man who likes doing his job as quickly, painlessly and properly as possible, this cuts my soul into pieces.
Her bureaucratic rule-loving bullshit: A sick patient's family comes in. They do not act like dicks, they are polite, they are cordial, they ask where she is and head to their family. Their crime is they have arrived a few hours before visiting time. The right thing to do is either let it slide or (as was the right thing to do here) just quietly let them know that they should only be five minutes and leave as soon as possible. BUT NOOOOO, she has to tell them they must leave, with no fricking politeness or sympathy but with the timeless "You have to get out now, it isn't visiting time." I'm not a particularly warm person, but that is some A-grade crap. This also showcases her lack of human understanding but her rule-loving goes further: money counting for patients who have already seen money counted by cashier's and her insistence on how she must log off before anyone else touches the computer she uses despite the 10 minute time it takes to log on.
Incompetence: She is a ward clerk. That means paperwork is her problem. The sorting, filing, admission and discharging off patients on the computer system are her problem. When she feels the need to inform us of every time she must leave to go photocopying, asking me for help with computer troubles, the whereabouts of paperwork and transfer details, well... SHE SHOULD KNOW WHERE TO LOOK OR ASK FOR HELP. Hint: it isn't the nursing staff; we have our own show to run.
Lazy and overweight and full of bull: The other day patient visitors were ringing the intercom to be allowed in. She is sitting by the intercom phone on the phone and computer. Less than a moment could be taken to ring them through. I even shout out from wiping bum or taking a blood pressure or something to tell her to do so. She doesn't. In the end when done I let them through. Ten minutes later I get a goddamn earful about how she was too busy to deal with it.
"But you were right there, what's your problem?"
"My job is too important to be interrupted, I couldn't stop typing."
(Under my breath) "I hope Satan punishes you with an electrified railway line."
She also moves the chairs (or asks us to move them unnecessarily) because she claims she can't see properly and wishes to not be hurt. However she doesn't wear glasses and just wants a straight line to walk in from the computer to the door.
Supposedly her back hurts so she refuses to sit in any other chair but her "own".
In general she interrupts the rest of the staff with inane questions about patient's whereabouts, discharge status, transport needs and the doctors caring for them. If you need to ask a question how about you wait until we're finished with our own business and when someone's calls you on your idiocy, accept the criticism and don't argue incessantly just to have the last word, you're not a 4-year-old, you're a 40-something failure, who last month took a two week holiday without telling anybody leaving us pretty much overworked. Thanks for that.
I can't begin to articulate my hatred for her; I'm going to stick my head in an oven to calm down and prevent a brain haemorrhage or a pretty brutal homicide.
