This year has given us some of the most fantastic celebrity comebacks of all time. From Ironman to Womanizer, 2008 has been full of surises. So, without further ado, here are the Top 5 Celebrity Comebacks in 2008.
Number 1 - Robert Downey Jr. (Ironman)

I wouldn't have seen this one coming if it were a freight train! Exiled into "B" list celebrity status in 2001 after a brief appearance on the soon to be nipped Ally McBeal I wasn't sure that I would be able to buy into Robert Downey Jr. as a metal clad crime fighter, but buy into it I did, along with millions of people worldwide. He didn't look half bad out of the suit either.
Downey Jr's depiction of the Marvel comic book hero was hailed as the catalsyt of success for this movie, and has skyrocketed him from "B" list exile to "A" list red carpets. He is offically the "comeback kid" for 2008. All I can say is welcome back Robert, we've missed your witty euphamisms and sarcastic sense of humor, and we're looking forward to Ironman's second installment.
Number 2 - Britney Spears (Circus)

Expecting to see a tanked and incoherent version of Brit at the American Music Awards, my jaw dropped so far when she appeared onstage that it almost came unhinged (so much for sadistic entertainment value). Where was crazy Britney? Where was the head shaving, no underpants wearing, meltdown mess of a celebrity that we all came to pity? Where was my Sunday morning Star Magazine news? The blonde bombshell is back, fit and still has some tricks up her sleeves. After giving a "bring the house down" (this time in a good way) performance at the AMA's, it seems it's time to take Britney seriously again.
Her new albumn debuts on December 2, 2008, along with a triumphant return of the glossy and golden haired starlett to Good Morning America. Of course Britney still graces the covers of magazines around the world, but this time showcasing a very healthy and happy 27 year old. You go girl!
Number 3 - Brooke Sheilds (Lipstick Jungle)

Where have you been Booke? After what seemed like a tinsel town eternity after "Suddenly Susan" went suddenly off the air, Brooke was featured in several "B" movies that probably shouldn't have seen he light of day. However, she's currently starring on NBC's Lipstick Jungle as Wendy Healy, the free spirited fashionista trying to balance her work and her family. The show's popularity has skyroketed as an "older, wiser Sex and the City" and even earned Shields an appearance on Project Runway where she was presented with some killer kicks and one heck of an outifit. Brooke is back, beautiful and has a lot more in the works for 2009.
Thank you celebs for providing us another great year of entertainment and something worth writing about.
