One of them, named Jeffery, worshiped money very much, and every corner of his clothes was filled with bucks. "Money is everything!" he always told his friend. The other two was a bit annoyed by his preaching.
It was a tiresome journey, and it was very hot in the desert. The other two buys wanted to teach Jeffery a lesson, so they hid a bottle of water and waited for the time when there was no water for them to drink before they could find a place to get more water. Soon there wasn't any water left, but the bottle of water they hid. So, they wanted to tell Jeffery that money was not everything. Before they started, they bet again each other--one believed that Jeffery could change his mind, and the other think that Jeffery could not change his mind at all. The winner would drink water with Jeffery, and leaving not a drop to the other.
They agreed, and started to tell Jeffery, how important friendship was, and money could not buy love, and so on. They talked on and on until they could not speak any more because of thirsty. At last, one of them asked, "Jeffery, do you still think that money is everything? Could you get water to drink to keep alive with all your bucks now? What else are important in your life?"
"Well," Jeffery thought for a while, and said, "there is really something else very important in my life besides bucks." Hearing this, one of the other two was very happy, and he though he won the bet. "What is it then?"he asked.
"Credit cards, of course."
