Dear new Minion,
Hellish greetings to you, amateur devil!
I know you will be surprised to find me, the Prince of Darkness suddenly making correspondence with you. I can clearly see through my own blazing eyes, how elated you will be, considering your self as a lowly apprentice demon receiving a letter from the Ancient Serpent and Master of Evil himself. No doubt, as inherent among our kind, you will surely be parading before the hosts of Hell bragging about your vicious pride of having received a note from me. Be assured! I will allow you that. For since the beginning of time, pride has been my own vanity. Perhaps it was not hidden from you and I hope your master devils had taught you well about my grand beginnings. Just in case they forgot, let me tell you my real name. I was called Lucifer, or “Carrier of Light”. I was the fairest and the most beautiful among God's archangels. In fact, I believed, many envied me for having been especially created above all the rest in splendor. Things just turned different when I tried to wage a war against the heavens when I too, desired to be equal with God. That was just unacceptable to Him. Truly, He does not want to be equaled by anybody. He wants to be alone in His glory! Many joined me in my cause but still, we were defeated by the host of those coward loyalists under an archangel second only to me, named Michael. I just could not understand why they chose to remain subservient to God instead of seeking their own glories. They were fools.
Now I'm here, in this filthy Earth, with an extremely obnoxious appearance. Nonetheless, if God thwarted my lordship in heaven, I vowed to turn this world into my own kingdom. In short, it was my own pride and ambition that caused God to drive me down here. So much about my sad story, I just wish my special interest in you as a promising demon; will embolden you to be more assiduous in bringing more souls to hell; for that alone, is our business.
Talking about getting more souls, I wish to give you some basic and time-tested techniques in committing as many souls as possible to damnation. You see, after having been cast out of Heaven eons upon eons of time ago; I have tried and mastered all forms of cunning arts of temptation. Never yielding to my thought of becoming equal, if not, greater than God, I earnestly wish to bring all human beings to perdition, if only through that way, I can get even with Him. For this, you should pay much attention. I will give you now, man's common weak points and the subtle ways of seducing them to do evil.
Firstly, you must bear in mind that all men having been granted with free-will, has the entire propensity to take an individualistic attitude. That is, no matter how they say, they follow rules or God's laws; they always have an innermost desire to be “himself” - to be free, so to say. In other words, he naturally seeks to be his own “god” to some extent. Because of this, he has the tendency to appeal to reason by rationalizing his actions thus, most of the time, falling into the trap of believing that every action, no matter what, can be justified reasonably.
In here we are in great advantage, because God so far, has chosen to be literally invisible and unfelt through ordinary situations. Man, having focused mainly on the supernatural miracles of the ancient times, has found it impossible to believe that indeed there is still a God who governs everything. They now say, “God has been the masterpiece of the human mind, reated by ancient men who were ignorant of nature.” So they soared high with their thoughts and with the use of science they made God an obsolete legend. Intoxicated by their discoveries, they now pry on the formerly mysterious phenomena of the universe, and claim that everything has now, a natural and scientific explanation.
If you are good enough, it will be in this particular weakness that you can work more. Feed every iota of uncertainty in every man's mind. Blow it up until, every single kind of it ends to apostasy. Keep your insinuations strong that materialism is the only reality. This will be very easy, just ride on their fascination of science, and make them believe that anything “immaterial” is nonexistent.
Secondly, take note of the same individualism in the context of belief. This, when coupled with pride and absolutism can be one of our best means of catching a soul. Take special notice of every disagreement and discord especially in terms of religion. Lately, after more than several thousands of years, many religions have come out. Such that, most often, though all of them teach love and brotherhood, which are the basic marks of God's presence, their adherents in their foolish blindness, roam around the world killing one another in the name of their individual “gods”. You see, I laugh out loud every time I see them exchanging accusations and murdering one another. For this, I specially charge you to fan every egoistic presentation of belief. Keep each of them believe that he has the “true” god, and that those who do not belong to his group are not following the true god and hence, will not be saved. With that, they will hold one-another suspect and in contempt. Then I will have the enjoyment of mocking God, (of course I know I can only do it because He allows me), I will tell Him how His strategy of relating to man in different manifestations, allowing them to worship Him in different ways; has failed.
