Coca-Cola is one of the most popular soft drinks today. The company started out in the 1880s, and, in average, sold only 9 drinks per day. However, things have changed since then. Not only in Coca-Cola the most populat drink, but it is also the second most expensive name (Malboro being the first).
However, what people don't know is how corrosive Coca-Cola really is. Here are some of the effects Coca-Cola has:
- The corrosive ingredient in Coca-Cola is phosphoric acid. It is so powerful that, if you submerge a nail in a can of Coca-Cola, it will be gone in about four days.
- Coke has the same effect on meat. A T-Bone steak can be consumed by Coca-Cola in just two days.
- Coca-Cola can clean off blood stains. In fact, the highway patrol in some parts of the US carry 2 gallons of Coca-Cola to clean blood from the road after a car accident.
- Same goes for toilets. Just pour a can of Coca-Cola in the toilet and let itr sit for an hour, then flush. (It it the citric acid that removes stains).
- Coca-Cola also helps removing grease stains from clothing. Simply add a can of coke along with the detergent.
- This corrosive drink can also be used to remove rust from chrome surfaces. To do this, you can dip a piece of crumpled tin foil in Coca-Cola and rub it on a rusty spot.
- To loosen a rusted bolt, a cloth soaked in Coca-Cola can be aplied.
- Trucks that transport the Coca-Cola syrup must use hazardous material place cards for highly corrosive material.
- For over 20 years, Coca-Cola distributors have been using this product to clean the truck engines.
- Coca-Cola was the first soft drink to be drank in outer space. For this, a special can had to be designed.
