The world is filled with all kinds of sounds, but these are the type of sounds that you may never want to hear. |
Dental Drill
Studies have concluded that most people find the dental drill sounds very scary and disturbing. The shrill of the drill turning on will cause chills even before the drill drills into the rotten tooth.Fire Burning
The sound of a fire burning in a fireplace or campfire can be quite cozy and relaxing, but the sound of a fire burning out of control, crackling and popping your house down is frightening and depressing.Tornado
A tornado sounds like a freight train speeding down the track at full speed as it plows through anything and everything along its path. Even more terrifying is hearing the powerful howling of a destructive tornado at night, because hearing is sometimes worse than seeing. Gun Shots
In the country during hunting season it is not uncommon to hear the blasting of shotguns, but in the city where it is illegal to shoot guns, just hearing a gun shot can be quite shocking and scary.Jail Door Closing
Hearing the jail door clang shut behind you for the first time is beyond any kind of descriptive word used to depict the feelings present at that time.Police Siren
Cruising down the road while minding your own business, when a police car suddenly appears and turns on the siren is nerve racketing, because you know what is coming next. Train Whistle
Imagine your car suddenly stalled out as you were crossing the train tracks and then, out of nowhere an explosion of noise breaks the silence and tons of steel is trucking down the rails straight towards your car. The train blows its whistle once more to warn you it's there and to get out of the way to safety.Thunder
Explosive claps of thunder can shake, rattle and roll causing some people and many animals to tremble, run and hide. Clock Ticking
You never want to hear a clock ticking under your seat when riding a bus, plane or train. Period. Rattlesnake Rattle
You never want to hear a rattlesnake rattling behind your back as you stand on the edge of a steep cliff. Angry Dog Bark
You never want to hear an angry dog barking and growling at you, especially not if the dog is chasing you at the same time.Dueling Banjos
You never want to hear dueling banjos start playing in the background as you paddle alone down a southern river.Security Gate Alarm
You never want to hear the alarm ring and whistle at a security gate in a retail store or airport. It is both embarrassing and suddenly shocking as the security guards surround you, making it appear that you did something wrong.Garbage Disposal Motor
You never want to hear the garbage disposal motor turn on when you are reaching your hand into it, even to retrieve a lost ring.Grave Groaning
You never want to hear groans or moans coming from a grave at a cemetery whether it is night or day.
