Beautiful Sexy Sand Sculptures

Does sex truly sell and if so just how far does that statement go?

I'm sure that you all heard the term, sex sells, right? Well just how far does that statement go? Down below is an assortment of eight sand sculptures of sexy woman that I've compiled  from around the world. These sand sculptures were competing in various contests.

This one was sculptured in the Danish Island of Romo in 2005.

Here's one of a sexy mermaid sculpted in Santa Barbara in 2007.

This one was sculptured in Dziwrowek, Poland 2006. Talk about drawing attention to the breast. Well, he couldn't be any more direct!

This one is from East Fort Myers in 2007

I guess to show the breast is asking far too much here!

A dolphin and a mermaid. How beautiful. Fuerteventurq, 2007.

This one was sculptured in Papaqayo, Costa Rica, in 2007.

This one is simply beautiful. A mother nursing her babe. This work of art was sculptured in Sooth Padre Island Texas.

Why look! It's another mermaid. Another one sculptured in Danish island of Romo. Sculpted in 2005.

Are these what you would classify as sexy,  beautiful, both, or maybe it's just another way to exploit the female body? Maybe your one to just call it art. I guess it all depends on how you display it...or sell it, for that matter.

I do think that theses are art. I didn't care for the one with the m & m nipples though. I found that distasteful. Saying that, I do agree that it is all in the way things are perceived.

Gosh! Its soooo funny you should write an article on sand sculptures. I used to live out in Fuerteventura for a couple of years and I knew the guy who used to do the sculptures there. some of them can be amazing, can't they! Great article...

I loved the nursing mom and babe one. People tend to get so worked up about breastfeeding. I think it's great when artists use this idea to help demystify the act of simply feeding your child the way nature intended. I've nursed in one too many car and bathroom I guess and am sick of it. I'm not sure how this could be offensive to anyone.

Great article!!! Beautiful artworks.

Beautiful sand sculpture pictures! And there's nothing showing here that can't be found in any reputable museum!
I liked the Dolphin and the Mermaid the most because of how the sculptor took the softly-elongated and round lines of the dolphin and incorporated them into the mermaid's shape. Both creatures blend and balance well together.

These are very cool.I live in San Diego, and they have contests at the beaches like this every year, the people are formed in groups of teams that make these. They go up and down the coasts and have competitions, and some of them draw pretty big crowds, some are even on TV,but these are great from around the globe.

Those are neat sand sculptures. Much better than any sand castle I ever tried to make. The one that puzzles me is the mermaid wearing sunglasses. Why would a mermaid wear sunglasses?
