Six Random Thoughts For The Unconventional Mind

Does your mind have a mind of its own? Or do you own your mind? I'm a proud owner of mine.

Every once in a while, our mind wanders off its usual “route” of thinking. I believe different minds think differently. Some minds may think irrationally. Others can come up with interesting things that arise simply by thinking out of the original box that it is confined to. And when I say about a mind being confined, it is about how we perceive things in everyday life, or crudely put, on a surfacical level. That means, we respond to things as it is.

However, there will be a pool of people who would think beyond what they see. They may be ostracized in some ways as they do not seem to make sense of the norm. But do you know, great creations come out because of these unusual minds? Why do you think there are great designs, great works of art all around you now? How do artists thrive? They thrive by having an uncommon ability to see and appreciate things.

Once, I had this questionnaire that I did in a survey regarding what is the best asset one could have. Is it wealth? Fame? I came to the last option, which is an open mind. Because what we perceive may not be what it only is, there are different levels and perspectives to viewing things. Just like a glass of water, when shone with a light, you actually see a spectrum of colors that is formed. Simply put, there are 2 sides to a coin, 6 sides to a dice. Depending on how you would like to open up your mind to fresh ideas, the possibilities are endless.

Do you find yourself thinking outside the box sometimes? Well, I do. And my thoughts may not be that common that you may find elsewhere. Listed below are but a few interesting thoughts of mine that I would like to share.

  1. Early Bird Catches The Worm

If the early bird catches the worm, does it mean that the early worm gets caught? Poor worm

  2. Streak of Lightning/Message From Heaven

Everytime a streak of lightning flashes across the sky, it is like heaven trying to take photographs of the real world below, trying to illuminate the pain and bringing to light the somehow "ugly" world that is often filled with hatred and destruction.
  3. Fireflies Illuminate The World?

Once I caught a firefly in a forest. I trapped it in a glass bottle and shone a light at it. To my horror, the firefly, when exposed, looked like an ugly little cockroach. The firefly, though not long-lived, is magnanimous enough to lend light to the otherwise dark and gloomy forest atmosphere, not afraid to show off its light and attract predators from elsewhere. What a brave insect!
  4. Rainbow After Rain

If there's rainbow after the rain, so does that necessarily means that beauty comes after pain?
  5. Where's The Sadness?

We often tear while watching melodramas on movies or reading a good sad novel. If sad movies or stories are beautiful, are beautiful things necessarily sad? That brings us to the next point.
  6. What's In a Teardrop?

This is my interpretation. Besides being somewhat salty, what really lends weight to a heavy eyelid? If we zoom in to look at why we cry at times, the big factor is relationships, as enclosed by the heart shape. Be it friends, couples or families, we tend to shed a lot of tears in this area. The other stressful factors include money, academics and other miscellaneous represented by the “question marks”. Notice the other smaller droplets around the big teardrop? They are just forming in time to be “heavy” enough to be dropped. If we manage to reduce the amount of stress we have, the teardrops will reduce and be “evaporated” eventually.

Above are just some thoughts that happened to go through my mind. There are many others of which either I let them slipped away, or that I only indulged myself in the moments of having those uncommon thoughts and did not bother to jot them down. How interesting to know that even if you only possess a single mind, it works wonders. Make good use of your mind. It can bring you anywhere you want to be. Just remember not to overload it with too many thoughts though, and it will definitely serve you well.

I love knowing that other people just come up with thoughts.I think everyone should have a thought process. If people used their minds and thought about random things this would be a better world.I am really tired of people who have no common sense.I do not have the greatest educational background but I do have experiences and thoughts. So, keep on thinking!
