What do rich people really spend money on?

As times are rough and most of us are wondering how to fill up our car with gas or buy enough food to feed our families, there are items being bought and sold that could feed nations. So, I think we should know what the rich are buying compared to the rest of us.

Care for the Wealthy

Bugatti Veyron 16.4 is the king of all cars and ONLY cost $1,192,057. The powerful car tops out at 250 miles per hour, making it the second fastest car in the world. It also burns more fuel than any other car. But, it is a must have for Simon Cowell and Tom Cruise. This year 132 Buggatti Veyron's were delivered to their owners and another 90 cars are being held for ownership.

Meanwhile the rest of us drive a:

Honda Civic that rattles like a rollercoaster when it goes above 60 miles per hour.

Chocolate for the Wealthy

Knipschildt's La Madeline au Truffe costing $250.00: 1.9oz. It has been recognized in Forbes Magazine as the most expensive chocolate in the world. Geez, I thought roses were the most expensive valentine. Imagine getting your sweetie a 9 piece box of these sweets. You are looking at 2,250 dollars, but hey they guarantee shipping in fourteen days.

Meanwhile the rest of us eat:

Hershey bars

Home for the Wealthy

Set to be complete in January 2009, Mukesh Ambani's, new home will cost 2 billion dollars. In Mumbai, the twenty seven story skyscraper will boost 400,000 square feet. The first six floors are devoted to parking for all of the cars. Nine elevators, ice sauna with man made snow, theater floor, three helipads, two floors devoted to fitness, and automotive maintenance floor are just a few of the extravagant features to the home. Ambani has hired over six-hundred staff members to upkeep the home. The 2 billion dollar home is named Antilla.

Meanwhile the rest of us:

Are just trying to keep the bank from foreclosing on our three bedroom money pits.

Dog Collar for the Wealthy

Amour Amour from I Love Dogs Diamonds costing 1.8 million. It features 52 hand set carats of diamond. Amour? I would say 1.8 million is really saying you love your pooch. Pet detectives everywhere must be jumping with glee knowing their work load is about to increase!

Meanwhile the rest of us decorate our pets with:

Pleather collars from the dollar store.

Dog for the Wealthy

Lowchen (little lion dog) . It is in the Bichon family and weights 9-18 pounds. These dogs vary in price depending on kennel and breading. The breed is so rare that the only one available cost 1200 euros in Holland.

Meanwhile the rest us:

Adopt a labbullcockerdachshund mutt from the pound.

Water for the Wealthy

Kona Nigari water costing $33.50 for a two-ounce bottle of seawater mineral concentrate. The water comes from the deep seas of Hawaii, over 915 meters bellow the oceans surface. It is desalinated. This water is especially popular in Asia, mainly Japan, right now.

Meanwhile the rest of us drink:

Tap water

Mixed Drink for the Wealthy

The Ritz Side Car served at Bar Hemingway in the Paris Ritz. Cognac from the 1830 Ritz reserve, Cointreau and one drop of freshly squeezed lemon juice is what you actually get served up in a martini glass. This mixologist special is a bargain at $515.00. Of course, there are more expensive drinks that are adorned with rubies, diamonds, etc…., but this is the most expensive mixed drink that solely consist of liquid.

Meanwhile the rest of us order:

Aristocrat Vodka served in a plastic glass….with a splash of water.

Spice for the Wealthy

Saffron at $500.00: 1lb. It takes an entire football field of saffron crocus flower and forty hours of labor to make one pound of dried saffron. Funny that connoisseurs often describe saffron as tasting metallic or bitter. Yet, 300 ton's are produced each year.

Meanwhile the rest of us season with:

Whatever is in the pantry.

Mushroom for the Wealthy

The white truffle normally sells for $1500- $2700 per pound. However, Macau Casino paid $330,000 for 1.5kg of white truffles in 2007. That same year another 750 gram truffle sold for $210,000. Maybe their price is an indicator of the odd labor involved in locating the truffles. Female pigs sniff out the smell of a male pig and instead find a truffle. It seems that white truffles put off an aroma that mocks the smell of male pig hormones.

Meanwhile the rest of us:

Cut up whatever is growing in the backyard and we don't need a pig to find them.

Some idiots pay 300k for a mushroom while children do without healthcare and food to eat.....shamefull. I am all for each enjoying thier spoils in life, but my GOD! It is absurd for anyone to throw away and waste while so many others do without for causes that are beyond human control. I AM LIKING THIS- thanks.
