The world's largest dump is not in New York City or London. Rather, it is a huge floating dump Northwest of Hawaii, where much of the floating garbage on the Pacific ocean drifts to due to the current. After so many years of dumping, it is twice the size of Texas and growing! It is known as the Great Pacific Garbage Patch!
The tallest mountain on Earth is on Mount Everest! The tallest mountain is actually Mount Mauna Kea in Hawaii, and it is a dormant volcano. The reason it is not officially the tallest mountain is because about 8000m of its height is underwater and only 3000m above sea level. Mount Everest is however the tallest mountain on land!
Even though humans are so much larger and heavier than ants, all the ants in the world outweigh all the humans in the world 12:1! That means if the 6.684 billion people on the planet weigh approxiamately 668.4 billion lbs (100lbs each) then all the ants in the world weigh over 8 TRILLION LBS!
If it was possible for you to say the word "hi" to every one of the 6.648 billion on Earth, it would take you over 212 years to do that! This is considering that it takes one SECOND to say "hi" to each person with no travelling. In reality, although it is next to impossible it would take closer to 20,000 years!
On earth, there are over 500 babies born on average per SECOND! However, over 250 people die per second meaning the plant increases in population by about 250 people per second. Obviously, during wars, the rate of increase is significantly slower due to fewer babies being born and many people dying.
