Iguanas

Iguanas are the cold blooded animals which are the most intelligent of all reptiles. They are a genus of lizard native to tropical regions of the Caribbean, Central and South America. They are costly not in terms of their tag prices but they are the most expensive animal to care for. However, of all the pets, they are the most economical reptile to keep. Some of their species are spiny-tailed iguanas, desert iguanas, and green iguanas. The green iguana is the most preferable species among the kids. Iguanas can live up to 20 years and grow in a big size within this length of time.

Most iguanas have a row of spines running along their back to their tail, and a third parietal eye (looks like a pale scale) on top of their heads. There are also small spike-like scales called tuberculate scales behind their necks. A large round scale called subtympanic shield is located on their cheek. Generally, iguanas have excellent vision as they are able to see shadows, colors and even detect any movements at long distances. Not only they use their eyes to crawl through the crowded and thick forests, but also they are used for searching food. The visual signals help them to communicate with other companions of the same species. Their ear's drum called tympanum is found right above the subtympanic shield and behind the eye. They use this very thin and delicate part for hearing.

Egyptian Arabian Horses

The Egyptian Arabian horses are one of the most outstanding and expensive horses in the world. Their height ranges from 150 to 160cm and their species can have a color of gray, brown, black, or blonde. In the past, most of their breeders were originated from the royal family such as Khedive Abbas Helmi II, Prince Ahmed Kamal and Prince Kamal-el-din Hussein and others. The most striking feature is their head. The one with a head take a shape of a pyramid (with their base upward and their top downward) is considered as the best species.

The Egyptian Arabian horses topped the most beautiful horse in a horse competition held in France. Their extraordinary beauty has gained them an award of “living art” and their breeds have inspired many people worldwide. These majestic horses have played their vital roles as from war horses, show horses to human best friends. Their intelligence, courage, stamina and countless love for their human companions have definitely made them as the most fabulous and precious horses on earth.

Bengal Cats

Bengals cats are the most intriguing domestic cats which are bred by mating Asian Leopard cats with domestic black shorthaired cats. The males weight 9 to 12 pounds while the females are generally weighed from 7 to 10 pound. The interesting fact about these Bengal cats is that they like to play in the swimming pool or in a bubble bath tub.

A typical Bengal cat will have a series of distinct horizontal stripes which are called “mascara”, and these stripes run along its eyes until to the back of its neck. Their bodies are marked with jaguar-like spots, making them unusual wild-looking elusive big cats. The symmetrical stripes are seen all around their legs and tails. Their life expectancy ranges from 12 to 16 years.

White Lion Cubs

Even more unique and unusual, they are all white in color. The statistic shows that currently they are about 25 of them, and thus they are considered as the most precious extinct animals. Though they are rarer, they are not considered to be albino as they are not pure white like Timbavati Lions. They are just lacking "tawny" color gene, making their external appearances to be white.

Snow Macaque Monkeys

The Snow Macaque monkeys or the Japanese macaque (Nihon zaru in Japanese) are small primates that dwell at latitudes of 41° to 31° north of the equator. They live throughout the subtropical lowlands to sub alpine regions in Japan, primarily on the Shimokita Peninsula (northwest part of Honshu Island), Nagano Mountains (near a number of natural hot springs heated by the Shiga Kogen volcano), seaside of the island of Oshima (just off the Hanto Peninsula) and on the southern island of Yaku-shima, Japan. They have long been famous stars in Japanese arts and history.

The Snow Macaque monkeys have faces resemble human. Their hairless red faces and expressive eyes are features that mark their extraordinary appearances. They are in medium sized, about 2 to 4 feet long, and can weight from 22 to 66 pounds. They keep warm with their thick fur coats in the winter and soak in hot thermal pools. They dive for shellfish near the coast. Their lifespan reaches over 25 years.

Loved the article. I've never got to own one of these animals, but I did get a chance to work with a chimpanzee back in school when I took a primatology class. Brings back memories. It was one of the most fun experiences I ever had, because Reta used to love going through my backpack.
