The Northern Lights are truly a wonder. They are known in the scientific community as the Aurora Borealis. This occurrence can be seen most often between September and October and March and April. The strange lights occur due to the magnetic field of the Earth and the sun's flares causing a distortion of light, which is held in the atmosphere.

Paricutin Volcano in Mexico

The Paricutin Volcano originated as a fissure in a Mexican farmer's cornfield. The man was out tending to his field in 1943 when the fissure began forming and lava spewed out. Today the volcano stands at 3,170 metres (10,400 ft) high, due only to the pyroclastic flow beginning on that day in 1943. It last erupted in 1952.

When we take the time to look at it, nature can just wow us time and time again. While the Seven Wonders of the World built by man are spectacular, nothing can replace the perfect symmetry and beauty of nature itself. It provides us with peace and happiness, and will continue to do so forever.
