Who said that animals don't smile? Well, they do, as a matter of fact, some can also laugh. Take a careful look to the following pictures and judge who has the sweetest smile. Here are the photos of the ten happiest dogs posted in the net.

Ladies and gentlemen, presenting our first contestant from the land of nowhere. It really has a cute smile. Our first entry is actually the youngest of them all.

Entry number two has a unique way of sharing a smile, mouth and eyes close.

Contestant number three doesn't matter to him if he's tried or not. He always shares his sweetest smile because his favorite song is “Smile though your heart is aching”.

I think contestant number four is a fashion model. See how she loves to pose. Great shot!

This contestant was disqualified because he wasn't able to meet one of the most important requirements of the contest - false teeth or dentures are not allowed.

Because the previous contestant was disqualified, let's proceed to the next contestant. Contestant number six is the second youngest entry and loves to eat brownies.

Contestant number seven is having tantrums earlier before the contest proper started that is why he had to be accompanied by the pet owner.

Contestant number eight has got beautiful set of teeth. May we know who your dentist is and what brand of toothpaste you use?

Well, what can you to say about contestant #9? He loves posing for a shot, very obvious isn't it? Ready, 1, 2 …..Cheese! I am just wondering how he's going to say “cheese” with his tongue out.

And now, the last but certainly not the least, contestant number 10! Hey, are you smiling or daydreaming?

There they are the ten lovely contestants. Now, tell me, who has the cutest smile of them all?

Keep smiling everyone!!!

This time, you're going to judge which cat has the sweetest smile.

Why is it that most animal always close their eyes if they want to look cute? Does human being do the same? Will this cat be chosen as the cutest of them all? Take a look at the other entries and let's find out who deserves the title.

This cat also knows how to look cute by giving her sweetest smile and by portraying that she possesses tantalizing eyes.

Our next entry is still sleeping I guess. Even so, she will not be disqualified because she still wears a smile on her face.

Who said that black cats bring bad luck? Not anymore, it's computer age already. Civilized people have already forgotten that superstitious belief, instead, they believe that black is beautiful. Look at her eyes, so lovely. And the lips, they're so inviting.

This cat delivers her smile in a very unusual way, smiling with mouth wide open. That's kind of a new style, meow….!

How lovely it is to see a cat who knows how to pose in front of a camera. Take a look at how she posed, isn't it cute. This one has a big change of drawing crowd's attention.

That completes our list of cats vying for the “sweetest smile” title for this year. The winner will be receiving a fully furnish cathouse complete with all amenities and a year supply of cat food. Announcement of the winner will be on the New Years day. By then, all votes have been counted and tabulated. See all next year for the annual search for the “sweetest smile”.

The Age of the Beasts

After the age of the dinosaurs, another age of creatures dominated the Earth, the beasts!

This is the mighty Sabertooth Tiger. In the age of the beasts, these powerful hunters roamed the lands of North America and South America. It had a slim tail like that of a bobcat and it had a huge pair of jaws. With its huge muscular body, this feline hunted down many prey large or small.

Here is a skeleton of the Sabertooth Tiger which was found somewhere in California, USA.

The humungous Wooly Mammoth was another creature that roamed the Earth when the beasts were alive. These giants roamed North America and Eurasia(Europe and asia). These creatures are very ancient ancestors of the Elephants. The Wooly Mammoth used its long tusks to fend of predators such as the Sabertooth Tiger.

This was a skeleton of a Wooly Mammoth found in Southern Russia.

This is a skeleton of a strange creature that was recently found in the heart of Australia. This strange creature has the body like that of a kangaroo, but it also has razor sharp teeth. Scientists call this strange creature the "Killer Kangaroo" due to its physical structure.

These were all beasts that once ruled the Earth!

Six Strangely Entertaining Halloween Costumes and Delights

Medusa's Pre-Adolescent Years

Medusa, the mythology girl with snake hair-do, didn't really enjoy her childhood and teenage years. While most of the other kids played outdoors and hunted worms, she was often forced to stay home and lull her serpents to sleep. What a predicament! This is enough reason to have pity on Medusa. She isn't too scary after all.

Help! I'm Preggy With A Pumpkin

With this impressive Halloween belly painting, it's hard for an unborn baby to complain. Careful momma, I hope you didn't forget to remind the painter to 'press the paintbrush lightly'.

The Perfect Date

What a lovely couple! Even though Jack above has already lost most of his good looking features, at least we can see the perfect contour of his skull. And Sally finds him so attractive, enough to sweep her off her feet (even though he looks like a disheveled waiter and a Frankenstein descendant).

The "Might Be" Halloween Mask

This might be a Halloween costume, or it might be a Wonder Woman mask. We never know, but this is the way it turned out! Perhaps this mask isn't made to scare you, but simply for photography purposes.

The Pumpkinhead Gardener

That's right. He's a certified pumpkinhead (with a pun). You might love to imitate this costume, but please be reminded that you also need to clean the yard all night during Halloween, because that's part of the role that this costume requires.

Hannibal Lecter Delight

This tasty cerebrum and hypothalamus marinated in juicy sauce is the perfect treat for Halloween. All right, I know this is becoming too gross for you to take, so let me spoil the fun by telling you that it is Jello Mold, not an actual human brain. It's nothing like the real life Hannibal the Cannibal sort, but it will surely give your family members the creeps and the gags.

Oinkology: Nine Cool and Adorable Piggy Banks

The Pelucha

This is unlike any other piggy bank you've ever seen. In fact, it's different from real life piggies in one dominant aspect: the Pelucha has feathers! The good thing is that it retained the universal pig color, pink.

The Japanese Version Piggy Bank

Because the above piggy pair came from Japan, let's assume that their names are Yamamita and Sokagoku. They seem to have animated eyes, and there's a certain cheerful but meditative calm about them that surpasses all pig culture.

The Mutated Hello Kitty

Some scientists probably made a laboratory experiment and tried to create a new species out of a cat and a pig. The result is this mutated 'hello kitty' piggy bank above.

The Next-Door Nerd

Many people have complained that this piggy bank is an insult to human intelligence. Despite the harsh criticisms, "nerd piggy" has stood the test of time and reached vintage status. Standing 8 and 1/4 inches tall, he has enough money to regularly buy new glasses and overalls.

Spider Oink

Pork, spider webs, and money. Now that's a perfect combination! This superhero might just save the day, especially if the ATM is offline.

The Dark Knight

Batman is becoming more and more obsessed with money. Recently hitting it big in the box office industry, he then switched his interests towards collecting your coins. And so emerged this Dark Knight piggy bank.

The Wild Hog

Beware, this is not your typical cute little oinky. This pig is wild, ferocious and menacing. Because of its size, it can make you more money than the other piggy banks too.

The First Slim Pig

I know, I know. This pig looks like Snoopy or Odie (Garfield's dog friend). But in actuality, this is the first pig to ever succesfully lose weight and eliminate a bulging tummy. Look at that ribbon around his neck. That's an award from his ancestors.

The Moo-Oink

This bank has dominant pig characteristics, except for cow-like spots all around its body! That's why it's called Moo-Oink! A splendid union of cows and pigs.

Should Pigeons Be Forced to Wear Cameras?

We have CCTV. We have cameras for every orifice of our body? Maybe animals are under a real threat with issues of dignity. Should we use pigeons to spy on humans by strapping a camera to a pigeons head? Should we use a camera on a polar bears to detect polar shifts or global warming or is this just the tip of the iceberg?

I am staggered at the photographic technology and sheer bravado of cameramen for TV these days. With the advent of the digital revolution this has been a day of reckoning for the ‘happy hobby snapper’. I took a rather lithe young girl into my bedroom recently to take some innocent semi nude shots for her portfolio and was amazed how antiquated my ‘old reliable’ Practica was. Camera shake and foggy filters being a couple of the symptoms. Next time I will remember to put a film in too. But, thankfully she did not pose a problem. She just posed.

Photographers astound us with their prowess recently. When the pictures burst onto our screen don’t you wonder how many hours in a soggy ditch, ‘frozen up the chuffer’ that photographers may have sat waiting for just the right shot? Like a psychotic assassin in a fox hole waiting for his target to walk into his sights. Amateurs like me always need a bowel movement at the crucial moment, or trip backwards over the occasional table trying to get the cat into shot.

With digital cameras you can be as spontaneous as you like. You can take over 400 pictures and edit off the machine or on you home computer. No more having to pay for your Tesco prints anonymously. Those little orange oval stickers that say “don’t give up your day job” or “how crap is this?” . Girls in cotton gloves giggling at your ‘beached whale’ shot, or garbling excuses to those who see them about “the sun was switched off” or trying to maintain that your butt ugly expression was not the result of a disappointing toilet experience.

Which reminds me…
I remember my first Brownie. I still have it. When negatives were the exact size of the photograph. In 1971 I left school and took a job as a colour printer at a local converted Maltings in Newmarket. They still operate there today. I was paid £6-10 shillings in old money and had to remember that it had now become £6.50 because we had only just started decimalisation. Our new currency caused OAP’s to riot in the streets and throw scones at policemen and chaining themselves to their allotments. If they were still alive now they would remember how frustrating those ‘ha-pennies’ were.

I worked for a Jewish guy called Max who had a dishy daughter. I use to steal out of my darkroom blinded by my ardour and artificial light and make excuses to flirt with her. She was a year younger than me but she had these giant bewitching eyes and black shiny ringlets. Knotted midriff. She had a fond little smile and one of those bottoms that would not quit. I wanted to spoon with her even if meant sharing an ice cream. Most of the girls I knew, her age, had convinced me there were bigger lumps in porridge. Baggy tights and wall to wall acne. Needless to say I discovered a whole world of canoodling in those darkrooms. I smooched and romped for hours to the buzz of my Durst enlarger. The red light outside was to keep intruders away and wanton seduction within.

The beauty of adjoining darkrooms was that I could prowl from one to the other with my amorous fawning. I was too young to experience any copulation but I learned how to ‘snog’ and unclip a Playtex ‘cross your heart’ that had more piano wire than the London Philharmonic. Somehow my older female colleagues loved the idea of trifling with a young boy. Up until then I thought ‘heavy petting’ had something to do with shire horses. I had ‘honey pot attraction’ in those days. Then I lost my virginity and nobody was interested in me after that.

But pigeons forced to walk home because of heavy cameras should stop whingeing and spare a thought for the camera experts who stalk big cats to get our best telly viewing. Pigeons don’t know they are born, and that’s why you never see any baby ones. If you were in the Serengeti and had a heap of camera equipment on your shoulders and you wanted to get this angle on a huge rhino, what would happen if he wanted to charge you? Would you have the presence of mind to remember your wallet?

I kept three pigeons once. One was a ‘Fantail’ and two ‘Chequers’. “Hawkeye”, my favourite, had just one leg and escaped. He was caught and eaten by a neighbour’s cat. A real life ‘cat among the pigeons scenario’ but he got fed up with being cooped up and flew off forgetting that he had faulty landing gear. Hawkeye, was a lunatic. He never learned his lesson. He lost one leg to the feline community, and then his other and the rest of him once again. He didn’t have a leg to stand on really.

Cameras are so small now that they can put them up your penis or inside vaginas to see how things work. Fine by me. But once again, where is the cameraman going to sit? Time lapse cameras have slowed down images to such a degree now, that the beating of humming bird’s wings can be measured with a homemade calendar. That means that we can now see how David Copperfield does his illusions and discover exactly at what point my brother in law Terry will go to the bar and buy a round of drinks.

Imagine what else this technology will reveal in a ‘sportsmanlike’ manner of course? You could catch out computer graphics that can’t act. The moment a glance from a checkout girl, with riveting indifference, when she asks, “Do you want a want a bag for that?” And you refuse, telling her that that you would rather kick the loaf of bread and small potted plant to the car. How about if you could slow down some footage of a bunch of inbred hyenas tearing apart an intellectual cripple exercising the social skills of a Mars bar? AKA “The Trisha Show”. Perhaps, slow it down further, and try to catch Trisha with her histrionic sanctimonious mouth shut.

Question? If we have the technology to strap a tiny camera to the head of an eagle to see where the hunt, or its lair is, why can’t we do the same to re-offending criminals? Have such a gadget concealed in the peak of their Nike air hat. It would not matter if the assailant wore it ‘back to front’, because you would still know where the ‘ramraid’, or ‘mugging’ took place, as ‘he runs for it’.

All these digital, ‘doohickey hoosits’ and we still can’t identify criminals from CCTV footage. Your eight week old foetus can be sexed with ultrasound though, even when the camera is covered in gooey KY jelly? CCTV 24 hour tape seems to make everybody look the same colour and filmed inside a pond that has never been dredged. I read somewhere that thieves broke into a premises and their first port of call was to knock out the CCTV.

Isn’t CCTV a bit archaic now we have mobile phones that can video people? Why not just leave you phone over night on the desk, near the safe. ‘Would be’ thieves will not think an innocent phone is going to capture their every move! Alternatively, use a webcam that has a time lapse setting, and then you can slow it down to frame by frame for the longest duration possible, while the crime is being committed, giving you plenty of time to call the police at your leisure.

Alas, the days are long gone when you used to sit at one end of the entire school photograph, and as the camera panned the group, run along the back and pose at the other end, just in time to get your ‘double take’ but the photographic principles are still the same.

Some professional pictures are still taken with old ‘Instamatics’ from the seventies for best results. So, no camera, whatever its age is necessarily a ‘flash in the pan’. I have a friend who collects old cameras of every generation. He is a sentimental type. Maybe, like vinyl records, analogue cameras will refuse to be left behind. They can’t give 35mm films away in Boots now. Yet, for some inexplicable reason they still sell surgical stockings and hairnets. Whats that all about?

It just astonishes me how we can have all this awesome technology and yet, we still have to endure those pesky cans of corned beef, with the medieval key on the side that always breaks off at the crucial moment, forcing you to try and disembowel it with a spoon and slice a main artery in the process.

Selectrocution: Why Lightning Strikes Certain People

"Selectrocution", I'm sure you've never heard the term. You're right, it's not in the Merriam Webster dictionary because it's a coined word (randomly made up by the author of this article). It is a combination of the words "selection" and "electrocution". The idea behind selectrocution is this: out of all people in the world, someone gets "lucky" and becomes hit by lightning. Therefore, we can give selectrocution a rough definition: It is the instance or event in which nature randomly selects a person to be the recipient of a lightning strike.

This bizarre phenomenon gives birth to many questions. What are the factors that contribute to selectrocution? Does this mean that a selectrocuted person is the most wicked person on planet earth? Is this phenomenon a product of chance, or did specific natural forces pave the way for it to happen?

According to research, the probability of a person to be hit by a lightning is 1 out of 600,000. This might sound like selectrocution is very rare, but experts said that about 500 to 1,000 people per year are injured or killed by lightning strikes. What's even more interesting is that lightning seems to be selective of gender. According to a recent lightning hit survey in Florida (the most lightning stricken state in the world), 87% of the persons struck by lightning are males. However, only 34% of the males actually died, but 44% of the females were killed.

Another selectrocution fact: Lightning hits OAK TREES more than any other species and structures on earth.

In short, we need to answer the question presented in the title of this article: Why does lightning strike certain people? Why does Selectrocution really happen?

The answer is, we may never truly know for sure. Experts have pointed out various causes, such as high electron levels in the body and the hair of the victim (which has not been proven). Others blame it on poor walking habits, such as frequently walking in a huge empty field all by one's self. When someone is alone walking on an empty field, that person is more likely to be hit by lightning. Others meanwhile, blame selectrocution on pure Ugly Chance. On the lighter side, if you ask Fox Mulder and Dana Scully (from the X-Files TV series), I'm sure they will think that selectrocution is a byproduct of an alien invasion.

Our conclusion is this: Lightning is absolutely selectrocutive, so don't fight it. Get out of harm's way by staying at home during a thunderstorm.

Splendid Fishotography: A Glimpse of Underwater Life

Some fishes are just naturally photogenic. Consider the Angel Fish shown above. At first glance, it looks like a logo for some canned mackerel product, or a 3D manifestation of a fish from the film Finding Nemo. There's no reason for you to be suspicious, however, because Mr. Angel Fish is truly alive and this photo taken of him is captured in real time.

By human standards, the life of a fish is extremely boring and tragic. There's no T.V., no rest, no fancy dishes, etc. As a fish, you have to deal with the loss of your loved ones every single day, because as far as fishes are concerned, thousands of their kind venture to the afterlife without leaving any sort of grave. The "non goldfish" but gold colored fish shown on the picture above is a survivor of a great fishing onslaught or massacre. He escaped.

Some fishes seem to have an inclination towards fashion. "Hey, we may not be worth eating and featured on restaurants, but we're the most wickedly dressed down here", they say. The Masked Butterfly Fishes shown on the picture above chose to keep the source of their designer outfits secret. All we know for sure is this: There are lots of envious fishes swimming all around them.

Fishes are now beginning to address the issue of racial discrimination. During the International Summit Of Aquatic Life, fishes of different colors and kinds met in order to resolve the rising class conflict! Shown on picture above are members of the council. Photo was taken after a heated debate.

Sometimes, beauty and extreme uniqueness can be a sort of curse. That's exactly what the Lion Fish feels (shown above). Surrounded by mediocre and plain looking fishes, he has no one to talk to or even laugh with. His daily activities consist of roaming the seas day in and day out in search of some underwater camera that can at least document his lonely existence.

Shown above is a group of fishes who are social outcasts. They are the rejects of society. They are what Victor Hugo called "the third substage", living way below the substrata of life. Their faces are deformed. Their skins are transparent, revealing their skeletal system. No wonder their fellow fishes freaked out.

Ssshtt...stay silent. The two leader fishes above are embarking on a dangerous plan. They've been talking about it for weeks on end: a massive out-of-sea conquest in which thousands of fishes will try to leave the ocean to venture if there is life above sea level. While this plan may ultimately cost them their lives, there's no stopping them at this point. Later underwater studies show that this conquest actually took place.

The question is, did their plan succeed? We have proof that SOME of them made it beyond the shore. Those who survived are now active in pursuing modern advances in technology and transportation:

Awesome Alternative Uses for the Humble Post-It Note

Install Some Art

You are busy. The world is busy. Why not make the whole thing in to a piece of easily removable installation art? Leave a note asking people to write what they have to get done on a note and you immediately have something profound and telling about the human condition. Eh voila!

Keep It Small?

You may, on the other hand, prefer to keep your art small scale! This adept and skilful use of the post-it note is a perfect reminder of the suffering that fruit goes through on its journey to our tables. A great statement about the plight of oranges in a cruel and uncaring world.

Make a Lamp

Something a little more down to earth, next! Do you have a sad and dusty old lamp shade that is one trip to Ikea away from the bin? Then why not turn it in to a post-it lamp. It takes little time and the results can be amazing! Be sure to use low energy bulbs or you may end up with a house fire! Or give it as a make-up present to those neighbors you recently argued with and you still haven't quite forgiven in the full knowledge that they aren't quite as energy efficient as you!

Make Some Puppets

There are times in a busy office that your colleagues will need cheering up. A pair of scissors, a pen and some of that non sticky sticky stuff, together with as many types of post-it as you can find will ensure tons of fun for everyone. You could even take some home for the kids to play with if you think they will stoop to such childish behavior.

Make Some Origami Shapes

If you want to attempt something more artistic and complex, then here is a great suggestion! Post-its can be adapted to anything, virtually and the ancient art of origami is no exception. Best not to try this if you have little patience and an obsession to succeed in seconds. However, if you are of placid nature, these can be attempted without wrecking the house in frustration once you have wasted your one hundredth post-it.

You could even make an origami thingy for every single day you have worked in a place (or months if days are too many). Then, once you are done, spread your creations around the office and encourage your colleagues to collect them up in order. It could be a whole new different type of hide and seek. Your initiative will most probably be rewarded!

Redecorate your friend's place!

You know that trusting friend of yours who gave you the key to her place while she was away, to feed the cat and make sure that everything is OK? Why not thrill and delight her on your return by giving her place a post-it makeover. She will never look at you in the same way again, promise! Never!

You can even do it properly if you so wish!

Remodel your Hotel

If you travel abroad for your holiday and find yourself at a loose end one afternoon, then why not give the Hotel in which you are staying a post-it makeover. It will attract the attention of holidaymakers and owners alike. Well, OK, grudgingly, these aren't real post-its. Well spotted. They are in fact the giant-size economy post-its that have just come on the market for those extra large employees in an organization.

Make a Collage

If you have an artistic bent you could take post-its of many colors and create a fantastic collage out of them. When those friends of yours who bore you silly come round they will spend all their time gawping at your collage, so leaving you free to finish off the last few chapters of that book you've been reading.

Give Your Office That "Minimal" Look

Offices can be drab and boring places in which to work. Prove to your employer that you are more than just a jobs worth by taking time out (possibly a whole afternoon) to recreate your office for the new millennia. After they have realized and recognized the genius at work they will cease their incessant moaning. You may even never hear the word "slacker" again.

Variations on a theme are always a hoot around the office!

Follow up on you success!

As your boss so obviously appreciated the attempt you made to cheer up the workplace, why not sneak out at lunch time and give his car a similar treatment. Imagine the look on his face when he leaves the office after another blisteringly hard day and see what you have done for him! Employee of the month must surely beckon!

Tell him those three little words…

You really fancy a guy at the office. You may be a little shy and retiring so a post-it note doesn't just have to be for those little reminders in the office. You may wish to express your deep and undying devotion to him without having to utter those words yourself. Just try and remember to put it in an obvious place so that he will know it is from you. Like your forehead. Then look deeply in to his eyes and try not to slobber. Job done.

Writ Large even?

..Or give the louse an ultimatum!

Some guys spend too much time on the internet and there are some specific sites that are, seemingly, made in order to wreck relationships. Whether it is World of Warcraft, Stumbleupon, Flickr or Triond, let him know how you feel and you will find that he will chose you over the Internet every single time. Every. Single. Time.
